Stamped with a personalized name in old English font, this massive sterling silver ring was cut as a flat band from 16 gauge sterling silver, hammered into shape on a steel mandrel with a nylon mallet, and the seam was soldered together with great precision. A black patina produces bold contrast in the old English font for contrast against the radiant glow of sterling silver. The edges and seams were filed smooth by hand and the ring was gently polished with a series of abrasive cloths, while preserving the appearance of aged sterling silver.
