A wonderful, miniature, Victorian-era fob, modeled in 18k yellow gold and set with an intaglio carved bloodstone gem. The finely-carved wax seal features a falcon with outstretched wings— this handsome falcon wears falconry anklets; he is surrounded by a buckle-and-belt motif border, and emblazoned on this border is the motto: "Aymez Loyaulte," love, loyalty. The gold mount that holds this bloodstone seal is smooth and bell-shaped, and its top is decorated with a series of small, rounded leaves. This seal probably belonged to a member of the Paulet family; the Aymez Loyaulte motto is also associated with the Royal Stuart Society.
